What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? TEXAS
I recently filed a motion for the judget to confer with my children. My ex has a petition to modify our divorce decree and remove a special provision that we agreed to and he now doesn't like. This provision greatly impacts the kids 15 and 17 and simply allows them to tell me whether they are spending the night with their dad on a school night. the judge said he wanted to wait to decide about conferring with the kids until we have the actual hearing which I think makes sense. my question is how do I document his decision in the form of an order? He made a decison to defer his decision and I want to document this in a order as the court tends to have a very short memory. The judge said he made a note in his file for trial but shouldn't I document this via an order as well?
