Hi,

I have been a seller on ebay of amatuer made sports DVDs a local supplier provides for me. He doesn't have an ebay account nor wants to deal with the hassle of monitoring sales and so forth which is why I offered to list for him.
I hade sold a couple copies of one particular DVD this past month and had one more listed his week.
Last night I got an e-mail from a buyer claiming that this paticualr DVD is a fake and the he was the owner of it. He further accuses me of piracy and is building a lawsuit against me and has reported me to ebay as well. This is news to me since I have had discussions with my supplier and he insists he is giving me originals or used originals to sell for him. Nevertheless, until this is cleared up, I have done the sensible thing and pulled the DVD from auction until such time as I can verify that it's a true original. I have e-mailed the claiming owner of my action and apologized in advance IF IN FACT what he claims turns out to be true.
I have received no correspondence from Ebay about any "investigation" nor have I gotten a VERO message (Verified Rights Owner) which are the main ways ebay can verify the legitimacy of ownership claims.
The rest of my auctions end tonite and I will suspend any more until I can figure out if my supplier is being dishonest.
I'm trying to be fair and reasonable but I guess my question is this-- Am I likely to get sued for this? Ebay hasn't done anything yet and likely won't, aside from telling me to be more careful which I will. But is it common or plausible to be sued over this?
What should I be concerned with if anything at this point? thank you.

Tell your "indictor" to prove he is the original owner of the DVD.

Then, get a written statement from your supplier that HE is the originator of the DVD.

One of them will back down.

You aren't in any trouble.

Wonderful take on a Magic 8-Ball comment.
I was wondering what else I could replace with
a Magic 8-Ball that I was mulling around all night
but alas, you beat me to it.

Thats so fresh.
Like to make any Titanic jokes since we're hitting
these phenomena at the height of their popularity?

What a funny girl you are.
