I have a question about lawyers. I'm in CA by the way. Do all of them charge interest on the balance of the bill? Do most of them? Are there some who don't charge interest? Just wondering, because if I hire a lawyer it would probably take me a long time to pay the bill off. Thanks.

That's something that you can negotiate in most cases.

If you don't want to pay interest, speak up and make that part of the agreement.

Just because a lawyer presents something to you in written format, that does not mean it's set in stone. That's the beauty of word processors -- it's easy to modify things.

You can call some of the shots, too. You should feel comfortable with the ultimate agreement. If you're not, you might want to shop around.

Hope this helps.
