I live in California. My ex and I went to mediation and we eventually compromised and, on the 3rd visit, agreed on a few issues. ie. 4 weeks visitation over the summer.

We haven't made it legal yet, but the court date is coming in a few weeks. Her attorney sent a proposed judgement to us and we sent back some changes that we would like to be made. One of the changes I wanted was to do 4 weeks in Summer and then every summer thereafter make it 6 weeks. My attorney didn't include it in the proposed changes he sent back to her attorney. He said that he didn't think they would agree to our proposed changes anyway, so we would just bring it up in court. We haven't received a response from them about the changes and the court date, Oct. 2, is fast approaching. My question is, how do you think that will go with the judge if we try to change things, in court, that were agreed upon in mediation? (When they sent the proposed judgement to us, they changed a couple little things as well.) Let me know what you think, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks.

You should bring it up to the Judge that some changes were left out, and chew out your attorney for not complying with you and putting them in! You are paying him for his services, and he should represent you properly or you can fire him and seek new counsel.

Always seek advice of a professional, (and it doesn't have to be your own attorney)

If your attorney isn't going to bring up what is important to you in the case (as you see fit) then you need to speak above your attorney. I did and I'm glad for it, I also fired my attorney and refused to pay, due to the lack of proper representation (plus I never signed any papers).

This is something that I did, that worked for me and is just my opinion for you to read. What you do is in your own hands.
