I just had a quick question. We want to go on vacation with my daughter. If you and your spouse have joint custody, does the primary or custodial parent have to give permission or does the noncustodial parent just have to inform him/her of his/her intentions?

Thanks,

Robert(noncustodial parent) and Veronica Root
Cheyenne, Wyoming

Cathrene Root(custodial parent)
Colorado Springs, Colorado

Within the US or outside ? Where are you going ? and will it be during the normal visitation ?

It will be within the United States to Palm Beach, Florida and the vacation will start on my weekend. We won't be back for a week and a half.

Providing the vacation starts and end WITHIN your court ordered visitation, then all you need to do is inform her of the vacation and maybe a contact number if possible.

If your visitation ends at 6pm Sunday and you are going for a week, then yes, you need her permission and if she does not give it, then you can not take the child. The vacation needs to be scheduled for when you have the child for the whole week.
