Let's say someone downloads a warez copy of Windows 95 Upgrade(and 3.1 and DOS too). They install it on a laptop. They then sell a laptop for $50 with the software on it. My questions are:

1. Is the money you get from selling the laptop illegal?

2. If you spend the money you get, is what you buy illegal?

3. If you spend the money and get change back, is the change illegal?

Thanks. :)

Money is not illegal. Copyright infringement is. Also, selling stolen property would be illegal, but the money you get from it is not illegal. Its the copyright infringement that you have to worry about.

Sell the computer w/o a harddrive or format the harddrive first or install Linux.

Owning conterfeit currency is illegal.
Owning american dollars in some repressive countries is illegal
Owning certain US coins is (arguably) illegal - due to their theft from the US Mint.

Not paying people for homework help should be illegal.

I asked at another forum and they said it was an illegal transaction. So the money and what you buy with it isn't illegal at all? Only owning the copyright-infringing software?

Look , If the pirated software can be traced back to you , you could be in trouble .

How many times you going to ask if money is illegal to cash and spend ?
