I appreciate all the useful information here and thanks to everyone who participates. I have a question that is a little odd. Has anyone ever heard of a collection agency changing the dates of payments received to them? Suppose the SOL was getting ready to come into effect, what's to stop the collection agency from changing the dates of your payments on their computer. Suppose the SOL was five years 1999-2004 the last payment received was in 1999. Instead of them saying the last payment was received in 1999, they could say your last payment was received in the year 2000, which would be four years and the SOL would not be into effect yet. I know that would be illegal for them to do, but has anyone ever heard of this happening?

Of course it has happened..... and surprisingly, not all that uncommon.

Just curious.... is 'extremely illegal' any more illegal than just 'plain illegal'???
What exactly IS 'extremely illegal'??

If say we don't have receipts, can we use copies of our credit reports. I have an item where the SOL has expired and my mother and I have not received any statements.

I am not hijacking this thread but merely asking a question that pertains to the original thread. Why don't you offer advice rather than being rude.

Lets see..... your attempted hijack of this thread says, "If say we don't have receipts, can we use copies of our credit reports. I have an item where the SOL has expired and my mother and I have not received any statements."

And yet you somehow try to claim that this is somehow a questions that pertains to the ORIGINAL thread???? Damn, you can't even lie well!!! What a twit.... and a nitwit!!!

JETX,

I assume that your thread before this was taken off by a moderator because of your profane language—which was uncalled for (though expected from a fool). In it you said kiss my All American A**. From your brazen lack of intellect, evidenced by your reliance on obsenities, you do not at all demonstrate the characteristics of an “All American,” as you put it.

In the thread NISSANDAVE pointed out that receipts and statements were good to have. I merely expounded on that by augmenting the question of what would happen if a person in this situation, in this case it was me, would do if they have no receipts or statements but rather they had copies of their credit report.

I will not respond to any more of your petty attempts to instigate a feud, little man. Continue on your way, loser (and try to get a life).
