What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Illlinois

I have lived in a 4 bedroom home with roommates for 2 years. I have paid rent and bills until the month of February. I recently found a new home and had explained this to my current roommates of my departure. I stopped officially living in the home January 10th to now and have paid for my usage until now. I am being charged with full price split usage when I have not used or utilized anything in the home. My name is not on any bills or contracts as the home is now in foreclosure and all tenants must be out by March 14th. I have been a good tenant. Can I be sued for this by the roommates??What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

you are liable for whatever bills you agreed to until you have officially terminated your agreement. If there was no agreement basing what you owed on some determination of usage, you would owe nothing different whether you lived there or not.

the other tenants can sue. It's whether they have a valid basis for a suit that makes the difference. Your post is a bit light on information but from what you wrote, I suspect they have a winning case.

**A: yes you can. By virtue of your long term tenancy and no written lease, you were considered a month to month tenant and therefore should have given proper notice to vacate pursuant to the state law. I suggest you read that law.
