What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California

Long story short, I have been separated from my husband for 6 years. It's been a long process. After several years I was forced to represent myself as I could no longer afford an attorney. I had reached out to my husbands attorney several times by phone and mail and when it became apparent he was not going to return my phone calls I filed a status conference request. I didn't know what else to do. This conference is Thursday morning. Over the past few days my husband's lawyer has been trying to finalize things before the court date. I have been communicating with both my husband and his lawyer and we have come to an agreement. I have yet to see the paperwork but I am expecting it first thing tomorrow. If everything is correct in the papers I offered to meet with his lawyer and sign them.
My question is, is it common practice that both parties sign at the same time? I am very worried based on how things have been so drawn out up to this point, that I will sign and then it will take months and months for my husband to sign. I would prefer if we both showed up and signed so I could see it's done.
How is it normally handled? And would it be better to just keep the appointment with the court and take care of it either there or afterwards? I'm not really sure what to expect at the status conference anyway.

Any answers or advice would be greatly appreciated.

You could always negotiate with his attorney to arrange for a joint signing of the paperwork. It would also be best to attend the status conference even if you have already signed paperwork.
