What is the name of your state? TN

I have found on the internet this statement and ponder the ramifications:

"Private schools and parochial schools are not run by the government and the First Amendment does not apply to them."

This statement if true would tell me that I could not speak out against a private school, it's policies or adminstration and could be subject to libel..although I would have suppporting facts.

Feedback is appreciated.

As long as what you say is true, that is the ultimate defense against a defamation claim.

I'm pretty sure this statement is in relationship to the students, and what the students are allowed to say or read in the school. In actuality, this applies to most schools, private or public - see Hazelwood School Dist. v. Kuhlmeier.
