What is the name of your state? Washington
I have 2 questions. I have this collection agency trying to collect a debt, that they have not verified. They do have it marked as disputed on my credit reports. I have sent 3 letters of validation (CM RR)to them with nothing in return. How can I get them to remove this from my credit report all together?
Also I am having a problem with Trans Union. I have had a debt removed from my Equifax and Experion reports which are not mine, but Trans Union says the creditor has verified this info, with just our name and address. They say this is all they need to keep it on our credit report. What can I do? The number listed on the credit report for this creditor is a bad number, so I cant call them, and I am not sure if the address listed is even correct. I am not even sure how Trans Union got ahold of these people. The rep from Trans Union hang up on me when I began questioning there methods on verification. Any ideas? I am trying to clean up our credit reports and pay off our debts that I know we owe on. I wish we would have made better choices when it came to our credit and money. But I guess you live and learn, and not do it again.

AS to TU, quit talking on the phone and in writing, demand a reinvestigation per your rights under the FCRA. If that doesn't resolve the problem, you have the right to demand a procedure request.
If this CA is the one you've mentioned before, you've got them on several violations. Not operating leggally in your state and, trying to collect an amount that is different from the amount the OC says you owe. Even though the accounts are marked in dispute, there refusal to validate is continuing collection activity.
Crusher, it's time to decide if you wish to cross the Rubicon or not. I think you need to sue 'em. You've a nice paper trail and, some very real violations. Prehaps post the entire story {no matter how long} at www.creditboards.com and ask advice on filing lawsuits. There are a couple of Wa. state residents that may help.
