What is the name of your state? Illinois

Here is the general synopsis: My fiance got divorced after his ex wife cheated on him more than one time, but one that he can prove. He was told that he couldn't file for divorce under the grounds of adultery, even though it is grounds for divorce in Illinois. Because of this information, the grounds were "irreconcilable differences". They had a daughter during their marriage and has jt custody of her, but his ex has residential so he has to pay child support. (I have also posted a message in the custody section which explains some of this as well). He is wondering if there is any way to change/refile to get the correct grounds for divorce on file and if this could possibly be helpful in gaining full custody of his daughter. Does anyone have any advice/legal knowledge on this subject???

The divorce is final and dusted AND no, the grounds have nothing to do with change of custody.

Why do you want to change custody? Are there PROVABLE change in circumstances from the time of the divorce? Meaning, not your opinion of fiance, or of mom, but actual factual evidence that the child would be better off (significantly, by legal def not opinion) in your fiances custody?
