What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? I am in Seattle,WA. How many generations of heirs need to be notified of a Quiet Title pursuit?
We purchased a piece of property that has a small sliver of land adjacent to it that is not on our title nor on the title of the property next to ours. The Title Co. said that we need to notify heirs of the original owners who parceled out and sold the land between 1930 and 1952. The original owners are dead, their only son is dead, 2 of his sons are dead. I believe the daughter is the only living person in the third generation but their may be many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Is there a limit to the number of generation that we have to contact? Will contacting the one daughter of the third generation be enough? Thank you for your help.
