I purchased a house with my fiance a little over a year ago. We have since seperated and I am trying to find out how to get my name off the property. Can I just sign a Quit Claim Deed and be done with it, or would he have to refinance without me?

**A: is there a mortgage on the property and are you on it?

Q1) "Can I just sign a Quit Claim Deed and be done with it"
A1) You can 'quit claim' to remove your ownership on the title, but it has nothing to do with the mortgage.

Q2) "or would he have to refinance without me?"
A2) If you want your name off the mortgage, he will have to refinance without your name.
