What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Georgia

Hi, I rent a home in Georgia and the septic tank in the backyard recently overflowed. I contacted the landlord and they quickly had it pumped. The plumbers told the landlord and myself that the septic tank is broken and needs to be replaced. That was more than a month ago and its still broken. But this past Monday, more raw sewage came into the yard and that horrible smell permeated through the house and is making me sick to my stomach. I informed the landlords again but so far haven't gotten a reply. I'm no doctor but I'm sure this isn't good for my health. What are my options?

Call your county building inspections desk and tell them what the servicer said , they should arrange a inspection and they sure can order the LL to repair it, dont be surprised if your LL reacts badly inc refusing to renew or being real stubborn and forcing inspections to condemn. get a copy of the inspection report for your records and dont lose it, it could be handy later on.

Some states allow tenants to demand repairs within 5 business days if it affects life and health(sewage would fall in this category) if LL fails to remedy tenant can legally terminate said lease.
