What is the name of your state? mo

I just wanted to let you know, since your thread got closed, that MO is a no fault state. Her cheating on her husband will have NO bearing on any of the divorce proceedings - not financially and not wrt custody of the children.

It is highly unlikely that the children will be allowed to speak their minds in court, though your brother could certainly request that a GAL be appointed to speak for them - be warned, it's expensive.

And religion will have NO bearing on anything either. That's said as a (at the time) practicing Wiccan who shares custody w/her Southern Baptist ex husband - against his wishes.

CJane - thanks for opening this thread as I also wanted to respond to Rd2Graphics response to me -

Rd...when I said that you were condemning without proof - I was NOT referring to her affair. Instead, your subsequent posting indicated that you had hoped for leverage in court due to her drug use - when, in fact, there is absolutely no proof whatsoever that she is using drugs. Merely has exhibited a change in behavior - and sweetie - I don't even DRESS the same as I did prior to filing for divorce, never mind act the same. And, umm....no I'm not taking any drugs.

Some of us grow/change/ or simply stop behaving as was preferred by the overbearing, control freak of a spouse that we've decided to leave - which very well may be the reason for the change in behavior - maybe she simply got tired of not being accepted for who she really is inside and so stopped behaving as others expected...

You're the brother of the husband who she left, true? Probably has a similar attitude as you...and your judgemental, God-fearing, attitude came shining through.

Oh - and Blessed Be....

Problem being, he avows he is ANTI Christian...;) Kinda blows your argument, doesn't it?

Here's a piece from his thread: " Keep in mind before you try to slam me that I am in no way shape or form religious, I use the bible only to prove the "others" are hipocrites (which BTW is actually always very easy to do.)"

Whose attitude shone through?

I did post on that thread the Missouri statutes for 'best interest'. THAT is what the brother needs to be looking at.

Oh the wild accusations of the saintly folks when folks won't act like they think they should act.

My favorite part was where he said "she had condemned herself to death" because she had committed adultery, and that's a capital offense in the bible. So, the bad news is she's going to die someday. I've committed mortal sins too (according to the bible) such as eating the flesh of a pig! Yikes! I'm going to die someday, too?!? Thanks for the heads-up, bro!

Is it my imagination, or is there an unusual number of of whack-jobs around here lately?

I just loved how he got all pissy with me...I "got" everything wrong.. HE is the one that titled his thread "Drug Testing for Child Support." Yet when I said that it was a way for them to aviod support...he got mad! It was really about custody...:p

Wow, I totally misread that in the other thread. I thought he was a Christian who only used the bible to prove people are hypocrites. Wow.

The thing this guy didn't get is that adultery is a symptom of a bad marriage - not the cause of a bad marriage.

I suspect strongly that the STBX wife is finally enjoying the freedom of not being under a control-freak.

I hate bible thumpers. Howzabout just acting Christian like and loving your neighbor as yourself and turning the other cheek. And remember the story of the prodigal son and all the others who were forgiven for their sins. And how Jesus loved Magdalene - who, God-forbid was a prostitute!

There, I'm off my tirade.

No one was thumping. The silly OP is ANTI Christian/Bible/etc. The rest of YOU are discussing something that didn't happen.

No, he was using the bible to say that OTHERS were hypocrits. That's a bible thumper.

They pound on that bible and make lots of noise, but don't follow its tenets.

I hate to use Wikipedia for references in this forum, but it's appropriate here :)

Actually, my argument w/him wasn't about the affair - it was about a behavioral assessment based on the suspicion of drug use turning to stated fact as the posts went on- that was where his condemnation and judgement came in.

But I did miss his comment that he is not religious - thank you! - although anyone who is able to use the Bible as a means to show hypocracy...well, I'm thinking he must know the Bible pretty well! LOL - I'm w/you, though, on the attitude ;) it's so strong it shines through....

I didn't start this thread to pick on the original poster about his anti-religious views. Yes, his anger/distrust of religion comes shining through... yes, he comes across as zealous about it, and yes, I think he was trying to stir sh*t with his attitude/postings.

Yes, I think saying that she's 'condemned herself to death' is silly and meant to throw gas on the flames.

But I think it's important that OP realize that not one bit of that matters. Not in court, not legally. The rest? Karma will sort it out.
