What is the name of your state? New York

I had applied for re-admission to Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, New York.. I was suspended for a year previously and they said the process would be simple. This application took place in August, I hadn't heard a definite answer from them until recently. My admission counselor said they couldn't admit me into my preferred major, but I could be a non-matriculated student and take any courses that were open. I tried registering for classes but to find that an academically ineligible hold was still on my account. I asked my admissions counselor about this, she completely backfired and said she couldn't do anything and told me I couldn't register until spring quarter. But previously in her e-mails she said it was a GO AHEAD.

A few people who I know that work at RIT have told me that what my admissions counselor did was completely wrong and she could get fired for this. I'm just really frustrated because I've waited for so long to finally return to RIT and now I'm stuck because of my counselor's screw up and incompetence (after 3 months of waiting!). I'm going to waste another quarter because of her mistake, thus delaying my achievement of getting a degree.

Do I have a case if I wanted to sue RIT?
