RE: Fed tax refund offset

What is the name of your state? TN

My ex has filed his federal taxes for the first time since we divorced (2000)(major red flag for the IRS) and I have been told by his current partner that his refund was offset to be applied toward back child support. That would be great, but I have reservations about doing anything with the money, if and/or when I do receive it.

Can anyone tell me what responsibility I bear, if for any reason, the IRS audits him and finds that he was not entitled to the refund? Will I be held liable for repayment?

Thanks in advance
