What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? New York

Per my request, TransUnion of Buffalo sent me a CR. The report does not include the date which last payment was made for any listings. Am I correct that I need this info to determine SOL?
I had one listing for Cross Country Bank which was opened in 7/1997. Closed in 4/2000. Purchased to another firm. Now a Law Office is trying to collect. I am not sure if the SOL has run its course on this because of missing information.

You really should get reports from all 3 credit bureaus. I believe Experian does give you the date of last activity.

The opened date doesn't figure into the SOL calculation anyway. If the account went delinquent and was charged-off in 2000, then the SOL won't be up for another 2 years. NY has a 6 year SOL. Is there a charge-off date on your report or a notation that says "180 days past due" ?? Either would give you a ballpark for the SOL, just subtract 180 days from that date.

The report says" Past due 4/2000" " Charged off as bad debt 5/2002"
So I should subtract 180 days from 5/2002? That puts the last payment in November 2001. Is this correct?

BTW, I am waiting for reports from the other CB's.

Thank you for your help.

It was past due 4/2000 ?? Did you ever pay on it after that ??? Could be the actual charge-off happened much earlier, especially if you weren't paying on it after 4/2000. You'll need to verify that.

As far as I can recall, no payments were made beyond 4/2000. I am not sure how many days a CC company will give you before it is considered past due. I would guess about 30 beyond the due date. So the actual past due date could be 3/2000.
Does that make sense? Your're right about the actual "charge-off" It may have been earler. I hope so.
