I live in the state of Maryland and I am in the final phase of signing over a house that was jointly purchased and I no longer live there. We both have lawyers and we have came to the agreement of me signing everything over for $10,000. I was wondering if my lawyer will be entitled to any of the money upon my receipt of it. Also, I was wondering what important papers must I sign to clear myself completely of any liabilities of the property. I want to be sure that I cover everything when signing off on the deed. Thank you!

1. your lawyer is not entitled to an of the money unless he/she is on contingency or you owe legal fees.

2. ask your lawyer.
