What is the name of your state? IN
My husband & I filed bankruptcy in October of 2005. We signed a reaffirmation on the 2nd mortgage on our house. I am now losing my job. Due to the property tax fiasco in Indiana, our regular house payment is going up $200 per month. I called the 2nd mortgage people, explained the situation & offered them a cash settlement-2 months ago. They haven't gotten back to me. Is it possible to get out of the reaffirmation? What if we don't pay this bill. I know they would have a lien on our house-but could they foreclose since we have a 1st mortgage?
Thanks for your help.
