What is the name of your state? Michigan
I currently have had some financial issue causing my mortgage payments to be behind. A real-estate agent who told me that she was told by VA to do an appraisal of my property has contacted me. I have contacted VA and they say that they did not ask for an appraisal. This agent was very determine, she called on the phone at home and at work with an attitude that I need to let her do an appraisal. She even came to the house. I have found out that not only did VA did not request her to do an appraisal but she does not do appraisals she is only a real-estate agent. Is there any legal recourse that I can take? I have several voice messages from her stating that she was working for VA.

Tell her to stay off your property or you will have her arrested for trespassing. If that doesn't work, go to court and get a restraining order. Most likely your name is on a VA foreclosure list and she wants to find out if your house is worth buying at a foreclosure auction.

I agree with racer72.

Also, if she is just an agent she has to be working with a broker. Call the broker and tell him/her that you have contacted the local DA/Cokmmonwealths Attorney and intend to file a complaint against the agency as well as the agent for misrepresentation. I suspect they will vaporize.

Ask her specifically who at the VA authorized her to work and see what the response is, and you need the exact name and phone number/business address of the person she says authorized her to do it. She can get information about the value of your property and the foreclosure from other public sources.

Are you going to be able to avoid foreclosure or not? Did your husband or you use VA money/loan to purchase the home?
