(Nevada) I invested $15,000 in a Real Estate Fund which in turn invested millions into various properties in this and other states. The fund is in liquidation. If I get any money back it will be at a substantial loss. Does this loss fall under Capital Gains & Losses? I also invested $25,000 into a parcel of land with other investors which we paid taxes on. After many, many years on the market, the property was lost to a tax sale. Does this loss fall under any IRS tax code?

I think that the losses are deductible to some extent either as capital losses or some other way. I suggest you discuss this with a tax pro.
