i sold a mobile home and lot in kansas on contract. the deed to the lot and title to the moble home are still in my name until they pay it off. who is responsable for the property taxes until it is paid off and title and deed are transfered to their name?

It is a simple contract with no mention of who is responsable for payment of property taxes.

If I sign over the title and deed and put a lean on them, do they then become responsable for the taxes from that date on?

You can sign over title and deed but the lien idea will not fly. You admitted that the contract was silent as to who is responsible for the payment of the taxes. Therefore the Buyer will state that they did not contract to pay the taxes.
