I purchased a home in FL June 1999. The property taxes were prorated. At the time of the closing we questioned the amount being withheld for taxes telling the closing agent that the amount seemed too low. She said not to worry that if there was any difference that the sellers would make it up. The amount short was $ 900.00. We phoned and sent the closing company a letter demanding the difference. They said to send sellers a letter. The sellers are divorced and one lives out of state. Of course there was no reply. We demanded that the closing company make up the difference. You guessed it,no reply. What can I do? Is it too late?
