Almost a year ago, I was rear ended. I have a lawyer and have been slowly (very slowly) receiving treatment). I have had left shoulder pain/ache, right knee slight swelling and buckling, and something going on with my left wrist which occassionally throbs a bit but mostly it hurts when I lean on it like to get up from the floor or something.
I've had numerous x-rays, bone scans and mri's none showing much and weeks of PT. My last orthopedic visit resulted in "you have chronic pain" and am being sent to pain clinic. Isn't there any sort of definite diagnosis for this stuff? Problem also is doc wants to treat one thing at a time and meanwhile my knee especially continues to bother me. Last talk with lawyer he was frustrated and wanted me to see someone else but all docs want a deposit (I don't have ins) or won't treat previous injuries or not multiple injuries.
Is it common to have these symptoms go on for so long? Its frustrating to not have a diagnosis and an end.
At times I feel the lawyer has more experience with what I am describing a my symptoms than my doctor does.
I assume my lawyer would not be signing liens and continuing to represent me if he didn't think there would at least be enough of a settlement to cover medical expenses?
