rear-ended today what to do?

I',ve never been in an accident before so I don't really know what to do.

I was at a stoplight waiting to make a right turn when I was rear ended. The bumper and the trunk of my car are all messed up. My trunk doesn't close any more. He gave me his information and I called the insurance company while he was still there. I wanted to make sure he really had insurance. When we called the police they said they don't send police if there are no injuries and everone agrees what happened. Of course what happens if someone changes their story? I don't think that is happening (hopefully) I talked to the adjustor this afternoon and she is supposed to come to my work tommorrow to inspect and take photos. I'm supposed to take my car in for an estimate in the morning she says everything will be taken care of and that they will pay for a rental while it's being repaired. So I assume that he told the same version. (the truth) Right now I'm feeling okay but everyone is telling me to wait a few days. Sorry for the long post. What do I do next?

You'll be fine. The adjustor will come out and do their job. You'll send in your estimates and then they will tell you to either go get it fixed or they will total your car, depending on age, value, and damage. His insurance will probably give you a name of a car rental place. You'll get a car that is comparable to yours. Since he re-ended you, they know who's to blame. It sounds like you don't have anything to worry about. They may even offer you a little $$$ for your pain and suffering.

Great idea calling the insurance company at the scene. The last 2 wrecks that my family has had has been caused by uninsured motorist. I'm going to call the next time we get hit

running on empty?

I am still waiting. It has been 3+ weeks and nothing has happened. I brought the car in and they are going to total it. I called the adjuster monday the 9th and she had "forgotten all about me". She sent me a medical release form that she insists that I must sign in order to evaluate my claim. I have had 2 Dr. visits and 1 prescription. I have been paying out of pocket. I asked about my car claim and she stated that she hadn't received the estimate yet. I received it on the 20th, I took it to the shop that she requested.

Yesterday I went and talked to my agent (state farm) she is going to start a claim for me so that I can go to the chiropractor like my Dr. recommended. She said that she would give me a claim # monday and to have them send the bills to her so that I don't have to pay out of pocket. She said the car part of the claim should have been already settled by now.
