recall problem on jeep

I have a '96 jeep cherokee sport and i have had my frame rail crack and my steering box bolts break twice within 6 months, and my bodyshop said there was a recall for the problem in 1997 but, chrysler said my vin#/car was not included in the recall, and will not pay or start a claim for my car expenses and rental car charges. my car insurance agent and investigator cannot understand why the manufacturers rep, who looked at it says no to a claim, and the body shop repairs and rental car costs will be over $3000. My insurance agent and investigator told me to take the dealer where i bought the car or chrysler to small claims court for my expenses, can anyone help on this?

Why did chrysler say your VIN was not included in the recall? If it did not effect your vehicle they would have no need cover anything. Even though it is the same year or model they are made at different times and yours probably wasn't one that was shown to have a problem.

per the manuf. rep, the jeeps of my year that were recalled had power in the rear right side tire, and my car has power in the left tire. but my car has the exact same damage as the jeeps with the recall problem.
my insurance investigator who saw the damage and the recall sheet does thinks the power side on the tires should not make any difference and that chrysler should pay for the damage.

Then it wasn't a part of the recall and to get them to pay you will have to sue them which is going to be costly.

Remedy:
