I have been on a payment plan for 4 months with a creditor representing Citibank. I had been paying $300 a month. Last month due to slow work and the holidays I was only able to pay $250. At this point, I only owe them about $1500 Yesterday, I received a summons stating that they are now suing me for the past due amount. I do not want a judgement against me and have been doing everything in my power to pay off this debt. Do I go to court over this? Is it too late to work something out with the creditor? I can still make the monthly payments (or very close) and would prefer to handle it that way. What is my best course of action here?
