Received DUI while Secret Security Clearance In Progress

What is the name of your state? Nebraska

I was charged with DUI just a few days ago. I am currently pending a Secret Clearance for a government job that was offered a few months’ back, contingent upon my background check.

This is my first offense, and I have a clean background. I’m pretty certain that I will not be getting this job now as a result of the DUI charge. Does anyone have any thoughts/experience on this?

Pardon me for asking, but why on earth would you do something so stupid when you are trying to get a security clearance?

I mean driving drunk or under the influence is pretty stupid anyway, but you just took the cake with this one.
