I am going thru a divorce. I was married only a short time before becoming pregnant. I left him because he was physicaly and mentaly abusing his children from a prior marriage. Obviosly im scared to death that he'll get his hands on my son. Out of desperation to prove he is an abuser i recorded some phone conversations and have some good proof on them of him admitting to the abuse. I dont have an attorney due to lack of funds and have no hope of obtaining one in the near future. I live in Indiana. My question is: What are the laws in indiana about recording phone calls and what could happen to me if they find out. I am willing to do anything necessary to protect my son i just need to know what could happen to me. It wouldnt be in my sons best interest if i had to go to jail for along time but if the sentence was short it would be better then a life time sentence of abuse for him.
Thank you

According to the info I found at:

http://www.aclu.org/issues/cyber/phonelaw.html
Indiana is a one party state, meaning as long as one party is aware the conversation is being recorded it can be used as evidence. (You being that one person that knows)

Yes, you can use those recordings.. Your state is a 'One Party' state.
