I purchased 2 two inch analog tapes, five years ago from the studio at which we used them. The engineer and owner told us that we should just leave them with him after we were done, that they would be safe, and since only he has a machine to use them. All of the members agreed. Now the band wants to alter the masters, change some vocals, ect. We called the studio and he has lost them. What legal rights do we have, and how do we go about dealing with this issue? These were all original, copyrighted material. 9 songs were recorded, and mastered.
