I recently tried to purchase a home (in Oklahoma) using the Nehemiah financing program. The disclosure statement on the home said it was in excellent condition, the seller "supposedly" remodeled the house from the ground up, including floors and some frame work. At appraisel time the appraiser said there was a bad floor joist under the bathroom floor. This portion of the floor had been replaced, according to the seller. I think he should have seen the bad joist when he had the floor torn out. Now I'm out the appraisel fee because it wouldn't pass inspection. Is there anyway I can get that money back. By the way, the real estate agent led me to beleive that the home would pass FHA guidelines.
