What is the name of your state? PA

**I looked for previous posts on this subject, but didn't find any. If there is one, please let me know.**

We are refinancing on our house to help pay off some debt (and for some home repairs). Will we be questioned about the refinance when we go to file Bankruptcy? The reason why we want to file BK is to pay off my car. I was involved in an accident about 4 weeks ago, found out after the fact that our insurance dropped us 5 days beforehand (legally) and if the car is not totaled, we are responsible for the repairs which we can't afford at this time. Also the airbags deployed and I do not feel comfortable driving a car where the airbags were replaced (especially with a 4 year old daughter in the car).

Would it be better to get the BK papers filled out before the refinance goes thru? (FYI we sign the refinance papers next Tuesday).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Your post makes no sense. Why are you paying off debt that may well be discharged in bk?
I'd not re-fi with a bk on the horizon unless you get a lawyers OK.

Depending on what we can claim on the BK will depend on what we use the money for. We would like to claim all the debts on BK (only about $15k), but if we can't then we will pay them off with the refinace money. We are atleast 2 months behind on most of our bills, so that is what some of the refinance money will go to...trying to catch back up.
