What is the name of your state? Connecticut

I had a bad experience at a local pub last night and wanted to know if what happened was legal. My wife and I brought our daughter (2 months old) to the local pub for dinner and a drink. Both she and I like to have a beer with dinner. We were told that we would not be served because we had a baby with us. They would not serve us any drinks, dinner, and said that we could not bring a baby in the pub. The bartender’s defense was that she was refusing service because she would not want anything to happen to the baby. Is what happened legal?

Thanks,
B
