Hello - Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated. My mother jointly owned land and several properties when she was married to her first husband. Her name was on the deeds, and after the divorce, the deeds were not somehting she continued to follow or consider...bear in mind, this was fifty years ago. She recently told me that her name/signature had been forged on the deeds when the properties had been sold. The land is now worth millions and is in a very desirable area. It was the first time she had ever even mentioned this, and I can only surmise it's because she had resigned herself to the fact that it was a lost cause. Her first husband passed away thrity years ago, but the signature forging occurred shortly after their divorce. What, if anythig, can she do to at least have a signifcant portion of the funds which were acquired when the properties were sold...or a portion of their net worth today? I feel sorry for her that she waited so many years to pursue this isssue.
