I live in an apartment and the water heater broke and flooded most of the apartment. We walked in water for 3 days. The carpet is now stinking and molding underneath. The air conditioner is now broken for 7 days. We had to stay somewhere else because it was too hot in our tropical climate. The landlord told us to use the apartment upstairs. But I did not lease the apartment upstairs. I have had to live, eat and sleep else where. Should I be reimbursed or prorate the rent for the days we have had to live like nomads. What is the name of your state?
