What is the name of your state?california
we had purchased our home in 2001...We are both on grant deed & loan.We had broken up june of this year..I wanted to stay in the house...but i was informed that he needed to quick claim the house over to me so i could get my own loan..since being a single mother i was able to get a good loan...but not enough to buy him out..there was no legal document stating that he would get anything. :confused: can he sue me?

**A: yes he can as you still owe him his share of the equity.

buying out a co-owner of a house

california...when we refinanced...we took equity out of the house to pay off his bills....& i furnished the down payment..of 50k...can i use those that was taken out during the course of the time we shared in the house...as part of the buy out..
