The state that I live in is Texas. The state that the divorce took place and where my child and ex live in is Illinois. She has since remarried and it has been over 4 years since I have seen or talked to my child. They both seem to be happier in the new lives they now know. How can I as a father release my parental rights concerning this child that we both had? The reason the marriage ended was because she an affair outside of our marriage. I moved to Texas and she wound up living with the man that she had the affair with and had a child with him while we were still legaly married, even though we were seperated. They have since married. I would be very grateful for any legal advice in this matter. Thanks Wyatt.

how can i?why would i?

first of all what benefits do you hope to gain by signing the right of fatherhood away from your child?if it is for the savings of grace from any child-support in the future?well the answer is bad move,if you do this action it will only enforce your ex-wifes petition to the court that you have faild any responsibilities of the child,or the childs best intrest.and the courts regarding family law do not recognize the signing of any papers to free a person from any child-support payments.and if you were to be found, the father by a paternity test, they will make, and enforce you to pay,and pay dearly, for non-compliance.they except that it is of the federal, and local governments by passing "the child-support act""the uniform family releif act""the child-support enforcement act""the interstate family releif act"
therefore these acts are designd to obliterate a defendant in these ares.so a relinquising of parental rights benefits no one, neither the child, knowing that the father cares no more, even if they never see eachother,or anything else but to enforce the mothers chances in court,in the future.i am not an attorney, please seek the advice of one in your home state.good-luck,friends.
