What is the name of your state? Oregon

this hasnt become an issue yet, but i was just wondering what legal resources are available to me if the ideological differences my dad and i have interferred w/ the nature of our visitation time?

I have regular visits w/ my dad and my sister (12) comes along too. during our "discussions", my sister may have 2 leave the room, plus my dad's side of the family will bring it up whenever i'm trapped w/ them (I don't drive)...

Are you asking what legal recourse is available to you if you get into an argument about religion with your father?

No. You don't get to not go to visitation because you and your father disagree about religion ideology.

In a few short years you will be an adult, and your are free to abandon, spit on even your parents irrational religious beliefs.

For now just suck it up, and when the time comes let fly and tell them "I am dead to you and glad of it you religious freak."

It will totally be worth it. ;) (HINT this forum has no sarcasm icon)

Or just realize your parents religious beliefs, like 99.999% of everyone else who isn't you doesn't share your belief.

I was at my partners for xM-s dinner and I 'conveniently' had to run to the toilet right during the praying part. (AKA if you don't get I was deliberately dodging having to pray to their 'god'.)

thx xylene!

1 final question: what if I claimed i was "psychologically damaged" due 2 the nature of the visits? :sarcastic face:

If you are being abused under the guise of religious practices that is another matter.

Such abuse is ACTUALLY happening to thousands of young people daily and is not a fit subject for jest.

No. There's not. And as long as you're here, you might as well learn something. Religion-wise, here's your rights:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.

Now. What does that tell you about your question?

And please stop corresponding with prostitutes.

gee 747...

my father's warped sense of religion hinders my own, which effects my entire outlook on life due to religious restraint.

Maybe because incompitent does not exist and since you are making up the word you can make up the definition.

Being considered a hypocrite by a teenager doesn't make you incompetent either however -- it basically makes him normal because the vast percentage of teens believe their parents are hypocrites at one time or another.

And having differing opinions doesn't interfere -- if you are smart, it would actually EXPAND your visitation rather than limiting it. Because it should expand your world. If it is limiting it, then you have a heck of lot of maturing to do. Though that goes without saying even though I just said it.
