when you relinquish parental rights you are giving up all claims to the child, emotional and financial. you will have no voice in how the child is being raised, you will have no rights to see the child, and you will have no financial repsonsibility to the child. (no child support)

usually - unless there are special circumstances - this can only be done if someone is willing to adopt the child and assume the role and responsiblity of being the father.

assume the role

so what do you do about a ncp that pays support whenever he choose.. its [ordered] to pay 35.50 per week,he pays once a month or every other week its not consistant and neither is the correct dollar amount he chooses to send.this has been going on for 2 yrs now,and to top it of he does not exercise his visitations, maybe 2x's a year but not the other [ordered] visits..the child has had the [same] step dad for these 2 yrs./CAN THIS STEPDAD ASK TO ADOPT THIS CHILD???

He can ask yes.. but unless the bio father agrees, then it will not happen. If you want regular CS then turn the case over to the CSEA.
