I recently left my employer and was required to repay a specified lump sum (10k) related to a relocation agreement - although this is not the entire amount. The taxes on this amount were originally paid on my behelf by the employer (grossed up). Since the agreement specifically stated that I was only required to repay the lump sum and made no mention of the tax benefit, can I still claim a credit on my taxes related to the repayment?

You should probably contact a tax accountant or other well-versed tax preparer to confirm; however, if allowable, you could only deduct the actual amount you repaid.
