What is the name of your state? Virginia

I live in Prince William County in virginia. I and my husband are both here on independent nonresident alien visas. We are both citizens of India. I want to know the law about the following matter. We were married in India in 2000 by a Hindu priest. While in India in 2002, our marriage registration process was started (we have court document showing this). But we were supposed to go back to India within a year to collect the final registration document. This we could not do. Now we need a marriage registration certificate. My question is: Is there any legal restriction that prevents us from obtainng a new license from a US court and re-marry ?What is the name of your state?

I wouldn't think so, as long as you are still marrying each other. After all, people renew their vows all the time, not that this is the same thing, but you can only be guilty of bigamy if you marry more than one person, not the same person more than once.
