My college roommate and I co-signed for a mobile home in Auburn, AL. I am planning to move to the Denver area in the near future, making any attempt to sell the home more difficult. Is there any way that we can remove my name from the title, giving him sole responsibility for the mobile home? The bank that financed the home said that we could only re-finance the home to do this, which is out of the question. All we wish to do is remove my name from the title, putting the home entirely in his name.

Any information on how can proceed with this is appreciated.

My response:

The bank is absolutely correct.
