Hello!

Is there a max. amount that a landlord can increase my rent? Maybe a percentage?

I live in Ventura, CA and my rent is about to increase from $950. to $1150 if I don't sign a year lease and to $1100. if I do sign a year lease.

Thanks for your help.

Unless Ventura,CA has some form of rent control, and of course you should know that if you live there... then you have a choice move or pay the increase.....

if you choose the month-to-month option, then a new law in California requires an additional 30 days notice in addition to the regular 30 days notice for such an increase. For a lease, no notice is required.
