Well "djdj" I'm pissed off because the landlord is trying to raise my rent $100.00 more a month. And Yes!!! they did give me notice but my reason for posting was to see if I had any rights as a tenant as to how much they could raise it!!!! Since you replied do you know? Oh, I thought not djdj!!!

P.S. LL where can I go to find out if there is rent control in Baltimore so I can find out the limits if any.

It is my understanding that there is no rent control in Baltimore.

Actually, $100 per month is not such an unusually large increase in these days of rapidly rising rent. You may be over-reacting.

HE IS OVERREACTING.........

you get heat right? fuel prices have really gone up i the last year so $100 a month is not bad...plus if you are living in a nice neighborhood....well people with MONEY can always pay more then you.

Large rent increases of the last year or two are due to demand-pull inflation and not due to cost-push inflation. They are primarily a result of increases in real estate values.
