What is the name of your state? Connecticut
the house i am renting has been sold.the closing date is nov30/2003.the person from the prty mgmt co that mng'd property for the old homeowner has threatenedto take legal action if i don't give her an actual address of where i am moving to.so i called a hotel close by and had her call them to verify this.i have no problem staying there for a couple of weeks until i find something.but she called again today stating it would be up to the seller's lawyerwhether i was served with an eviction notice,my rent is paid to date.why is she doing this? i have no clue about these things.i have had trouble with this woman from the start.telling me that she could come into the house any time without telling me because she/others"were licensed". .i am going to be out of here no matter what by nov30th.i have no intention on staying past that date.i'm hoping to be out by nov24th.

First just because a house is sold DOES NOT mean you have to move.

If you have a lease, the lease goes with the sale of the house. PERIOD!

If you are a month to month tenant then they would have to give you a 30 day notice to vacate In writing, on Nov 1st to be out by Nov 30th.

If you have a signed lease, then you DONT have to move unless the old or new owner wants to PAY YOU to move.

Breaking a lease by the landlord is no different then if you break a lease, the landlord must pay your expenses, and you must pay the landlords expenses if you break a lease.

So do you have a lease?

right now it's month to month for the lease.but i recieved documents from the property mngmnt co. that states i have to be out by nov.30/2003 at midnight.these are the "official" notification papers regarding the sale&closing.but she continues to harass me.she has had coworkers driving by and looking in the garage and reporting back to her.she let that slip last week when she just happened?? to drop by.she said "well the garage is still full but i know there was a big truck here on tuesday, did you put your stuff in storage that day?" and i asked"how would you know?" then tried to explain it all away.my garage is full of my packed belonings, that can be put in storage with a days worth of work.i'm not putting it in storage and paying for that right now.i told her i have a few days off the week before the closing to put the stuff in storage.

**A: what date were you given written notice to vacate and what exactly (post word for word) what this notice stated.
