What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Washington
Recently, I made a water damage claim against my rental property that I own. Insurance is making repairs and it is taking about 2 weeks. My tenant sent me a letter asking for $400 credit out of $1800 lease due to the inconvenience of the repairs. They lost one bathroom and have to share a master bathroom with 3 other poeple. I have loss of rental and ask insurance to cover $400. Insurance says that is isn't covered because the property is habitable. It will only cover loss of rental when property becomes inhabitable. Looking online, I see inhabitable is when it's hazadous or unfit for living. Is the denied claim correct?
