I live in MD and was recently in a car acident. The recommended repair shop (from my insurance)took the car and agreed to repair. The car sat on the lot for two weeks and then took an additional week to actually begin. My 30 day policy limit of a rental was "maxed" and my insurance company refused to pay over the extension. The insurace company spoke witht the repair comapny and they agreed to pay for rental.
Two months latetr, the vehicle is still not repaired and the collision repair shop is now recanting that they ever said they would pay for the rental car. Now, I am stuck ith 30 days plus of car rental and the repair shop is not sure when exactly the car will be available for me to pick up. The rental company wants their money now and will not rent until this is settled. The insurance company of the other driver had acdepted liability until they found out it was a workers comp case as well and now refuse to talk to me.
What course of action can I take if any? Other than paying for this rental myself, how else can I get this resolved?
