What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Massachusetts

I gave my landlord proper notice a while ago that I would be leaving when my lease term ends. My landlord has since asked if he could enter the apartment to make repairs, and I have given him permission to do so. I still have 6 weeks left in this apartment. My landlord gave me notice that he would be repainting the interior of the apartment in order to help get it rented. I nicely asked that he wait until after I leave as most landlords typically do major updates in between tenants. I also mentioned that with the size of my apartment, the smell of wet paint would be overwhelming and uncomfortable. He will not budge. I know I have to allow the landlord access for "repairs", but do I have to allow him access to make cosmetic updates to the apartment? He will be moving my personal belongings and the potential for them to be damaged is a realistic one. I am also afraid that I will come into my apartment one day with all of my furniture piled in the middle of my living room covered in sheets. Do I have any rights as a tenant to refuse to let him do this? This is causing me a great deal of stress since this was/is my "home" and should be for the next six weeks.

Take alot of pics of your personal property and furniture now and if any of it is damaged by your LL or who ever he has paint you can take more pics after and use the pics to sue in small claims court.
